Denied justice by Onan and cast aside by Judah, Tamar refused to be forgotten, she fought for her rightful place, and was ultimately vindicated. Scripture also holds a second Tamar, David’s daughter, violated by her brother and left desolate (2 Samuel 13). Together they represent thousands of women who have experienced rejection, abuse, abandonment, poverty, divorce, trafficking, widowhood or emotional brokenness. God’s desire is not for any Tamar to remain overlooked but to be seen, vindicated and restored.
